Stop trading now
If Sentry is doing something you don't want, stop it first. Ask questions after.
- Press Halt in the app. Halt cancels working orders and blocks new trades. Open positions keep their stop orders, which are held at the broker.
- Cut Sentry off at the broker. In your Robinhood Agentic account settings, disconnect or revoke Sentry's access, so it can no longer place orders. See Robinhood's help on agentic trading, or contact Robinhood support if you can't find the setting. You can also close or change positions yourself in Robinhood at any time.
- Then tell us. Use the contact form below or email support@sentrytrader-app.com.
Frequently asked questions
Invites
How do I get an invite?
Invites are sent personally, and we aren't taking requests. There is no waiting list.
I have an invite. How do I sign in?
Open the Download page and sign in with the exact email address your invite was sent to. A different address, even one that forwards to the same inbox, won't work.
Install
Will macOS let me open the app?
Yes. The macOS build is signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens normally. The first time Sentry stores a key, macOS may ask you to allow access to your keychain.
Windows says it protected my PC. Is that expected?
Yes. The Windows build isn't code-signed yet, so Microsoft Defender SmartScreen may warn you. Check that you downloaded it from this site and that its checksum matches the one on the Download page, then choose More info and Run anyway.
How do I run it on Linux?
Download the AppImage, make it executable (chmod +x),
and run it. On Ubuntu 24.04 and later, AppImages need the
libfuse2t64 package.
Builds are on the Download page, for invited users.
Robinhood Agentic setup and approvals
What is the Robinhood Agentic account?
A separate Robinhood account that you open for AI agents to trade in. Sentry places orders only in that account, so your other Robinhood accounts are never traded.
What can Sentry see in my Robinhood accounts?
Robinhood gives connected agents read access to all your Robinhood accounts, including positions, balances, order history and account numbers. Sentry can trade only in your Robinhood Agentic account.
Do I approve each trade?
No. Once you arm it, Sentry is autonomous within the limits you set. There is no per-trade approval in the app. Your Robinhood Agentic account has its own approval settings in Robinhood, if you want an extra check.
Data and privacy
Where are my keys stored?
In your operating system's keychain on your computer. They are never sent to us.
Where does my trading data go?
Only to Robinhood, Alpaca and OpenRouter. Prompts sent to OpenRouter can include portfolio details, which OpenRouter passes to the model provider you choose. The app has no Sentry server.
What does this website record?
Only downloads and contact messages. See the Privacy Policy for the details.
Cost
What does it cost?
Sentry Trader is free and MIT-licensed. You pay OpenRouter for model usage on your own key, up to the daily cap you set, and your broker's normal fees apply.
