Invite-only early access · Desktop app

Automated trading that protects your principal first, then tries to grow it.

Sentry Trader is an AI agent that runs on your computer and trades your Robinhood Agentic account, using market data from Alpaca. Models from OpenRouter reason through each trade. Limits that you set decide which trades go through.

Invite only. Sign in with the email address your invite was sent to.

The Sentry Trader dashboard in light mode: account value, headroom above the principal floor and trades used today; an equity chart drawn above the floor line; a meter for each risk limit; the open positions table; and a stream of recent decisions with a Halt button.

01 — How it works

The AI suggests. Your rules have the final say.

The AI model never has direct access to your broker. Its ideas go to a rule engine, which can make a trade smaller or reject it. It can never make a trade larger. Every decision, including each rejection, is written down where you can read it.

  1. ScreenFixed rules with no AI involved narrow hundreds of stocks, ETFs and crypto down to a short list.
  2. ProposeAn AI model reviews each candidate. It suggests a size and explains its reasoning in plain English.
  3. ValidateYour limits check the trade. It can be reduced to fit them or rejected. It can never be enlarged.
  4. Execute & recordThe order is placed in your Robinhood Agentic account with a stop held at the broker. The reasoning, model and cost are logged for you to review.

Once you arm it, Sentry is autonomous within your limits. There is no per-trade approval in the app: you stay in control through the limits you set, the paper run and the Halt button. Your Robinhood Agentic account also has its own approval settings, which give you an extra control over what the agent may do.

Reasoning log

See why each trade was made.

Every decision is broken into numbered steps, with the model, tokens, cost and confidence alongside. Rejected trades show the rule that stopped them.

The Reasoning log: today's model spend against the daily cap, and a list of decisions, one expanded into numbered steps that explain an entry, with the model, tokens, cost and confidence underneath.

The Strategy editor for Trend momentum: parameter ranges for the moving averages, volume confirmation, entry size, trailing stop and minimum hold; the entry and exit conditions; and the exact brief sent to the model.

Strategies

Strategies you can read and edit.

Trend momentum, mean reversion and crypto carry are included. Each lists its entry and exit conditions, its parameter ranges, and the exact brief sent to the model. Switch any strategy off and its share stays in cash.

02 — Risk controls

Six limits, set once, enforced every time.

The values below are defaults. You choose each one during setup, and every limit shows on the dashboard as a live meter. Limits reduce risk but cannot eliminate it, since prices can gap past a stop.

  • Principal floor You set it

If the account touches it, Sentry sells everything to cash, halts and alerts you. It won't average down or wait for a recovery.

  • Daily loss budget 1.0%

Covers realized and unrealized losses. Once it's used up, no new trades open that day. Existing stops stay live.

  • Locked cash reserve 20%

This share of the account is never invested. Trades are sized down to fit, or rejected.

  • Single-name cap 10%

No single holding can exceed this share of the account. Positions that drift above it are trimmed.

  • Sector cap 35%

Limits how much of the account can sit in one sector across stocks and ETFs.

  • Max trades per day 12

    Prevents overtrading in choppy markets.

Sentry trades US stocks, ETFs and fractional shares, plus BTC and ETH spot. Long positions only: no options, margin or short selling.

Backtest & paper

Test it before it trades real money.

Backtest against SPY to see drawdown, Sharpe ratio and any floor breaches. Then start the 14-day paper run, with no real money at stake. Live trading is switched on from the Safety screen, never from a config file.

The Backtest screen: a momentum and mean-reversion backtest charted against SPY, with summary figures for return, maximum drawdown, Sharpe ratio, win rate, floor breaches and average hold.
Pre-release design, illustrative data, not real performance. Backtest results are hypothetical.

Kill switch & breakers

One button stops everything.

The Halt button cancels working orders and blocks new trades. Open positions keep their stops at the broker. Separate breakers cover runaway order rates, a lost broker connection, overnight crypto size and model failures.

The Safety screen: the Halt button with a note on what halting does, status cards for the circuit breaker, broker heartbeat, runaway guard and overnight policy, and a log of past interventions.

03 — Integrations

Three services, on accounts you own.

Broker

Robinhood

Sentry trades only in your Robinhood Agentic account, the separate account Robinhood provides for AI agents. The agent also gets read access to your Robinhood accounts, so it can see their balances and positions. Orders and account data go over Robinhood's agent connection, with a heartbeat every 10 seconds.

Market data

Alpaca

Market data only. Alpaca supplies the quotes, price bars and history that Sentry uses to screen, decide and backtest. The connection is read-only, so no orders are ever sent to Alpaca.

AI models

OpenRouter

Models run through OpenRouter on your own key, with your choice of models. A low-cost model screens the market and a stronger one makes decisions. You set a daily spend cap (default $5). If it's reached, Sentry switches to the cheaper fallback model rather than stopping.

The OpenRouter setup step: an API key field, primary and fallback model choices, a daily spend cap with a note that Sentry drops to the fallback model at the cap, and a table routing each job to a model.

04 — Security & data

Runs on your computer

Local engine

The trading loop, ledger and journal all live on your computer.

OS keychain

Keys and credentials are stored in your system keychain, never in a config file.

Broker-held stops

Stops stay active at your broker even if the app closes.

Where your data goes

There is no Sentry cloud account. Trade and account data goes only to Robinhood, to Alpaca (market data, read-only) and to OpenRouter (model prompts, which include portfolio details and reach the model providers you pick).

This website is separate from the app. The Privacy Policy explains what the site handles.

The Positions screen: holdings with quantity, average cost, mark, value, profit and loss, a trend line and the broker-held stop for each; working orders below; and a panel explaining why one position is held.
Pre-release design, illustrative data, not real performance.
The dashboard in dark mode: account summary, an equity chart above the principal floor, a meter for each risk limit, open positions, and a detail panel for one holding.
Pre-release design, illustrative data, not real performance.

06 — FAQ

Common questions

Do I approve each trade?

No. Once armed, Sentry is autonomous within your limits. You stay in control through the limits you set and the Halt button. Your Robinhood Agentic account has its own approval settings too, if you want an extra check.

Can I lose money?

Yes. The floor, daily loss budget and stops are built to limit losses, not prevent them. Prices can gap past a stop. Only use money you can afford to lose.

Where is my money held?

In your own Robinhood accounts. Sentry places orders only in your Robinhood Agentic account. It never takes custody of funds and can't make withdrawals.

What can it trade?

US stocks, ETFs, fractional shares, and BTC and ETH spot. Long positions only. No options, margin or short selling.

What does it cost?

Sentry Trader is free and MIT-licensed, and the source will be published. You pay OpenRouter for model usage on your own key, up to the daily cap you set, and your broker's normal fees apply.

How do I get an invite?

Invites are sent personally, and we aren't taking requests. If you have one, sign in on the download page with the email address it was sent to.
